The data is the data — and we follow where it leads us. This allows us to have a greater ability to identify unicorns because we eliminate those startups that will never become unicorns.
Our approach is working. TRAC Fund I launched in May, 2020, with 46 different investments. With only 6* false positive companies in the portfolio (companies that will not deliver a return), TRAC has less than half the failure rate of its vintage 2020 VC peers. When it comes to driving returns, TRAC Fund I currently has 8 companies (22% of Fund I AUM) that are “On-TRAC” to become Unicorns and Power Law winners (~22% versus 6% for the industry).
